Soul Delights Social is the online community for members of Soul Delights LLC programs. This is a place for you to interact with members on a similar journey by posting and commenting in your group forum, participating in discussions, updating your status, blogging, and messaging others. Ecclesiastes 4:9 & 12 (NLT) say “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. . . .A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” So, with Soul Delights Social, we can be better off than when we began.
I celebrate this opportunity to unite with others endeavoring to learn what’s best for nurturing our bodies, minds, souls, and spirits. This “true” holistic approach will be the difference.
I am so glad to have you on the journey!
While in Atlanta, I’ve had an opportunity to dine at a Vegan restaurant where I found the food to be fantastic! I had spicy kale salad, tofu, black rice, sweet couscous an awesome wrap & other items included in my sampler.
I’ve got to learn how to prepare some of these meals!
Iām so glad you had delicious food. You will learn to prepare some delicious vegan meals on your Fast for Life meal plan.
Just checking to see if this site will be ongoing through the session that begins tonight.

Hello everyone, this is truly a interesting journey for me, I am a very picky eater and have the hardest time trying new things. But God is leading me this way for a reason. God has a plan for me, and if I do not fit the image (mentally, spiritually & physically) of what he has for me, how can I possibly do what he wants me to do. As I embark on this journey I know that it will be a struggle for me so please pray for my strength and willingness along the way.
Hi Taivia,
I’m am so glad you have joined this journey. You know I am praying for you and look forward to what God is going to do in and through you for His honor and glory!
You can do it Taivia!!! You are not alone. š
Hello All!
I am hoping that today marks the beginning of the rest of my life. I am looking forward to gaining the right knowledge of food so that I may relate well to it, and not abuse it’s purpose…or my body.
This is one way that I am responding to the call to Motherhood. Sometimes it’s discouraging having children and then having to lose the weight all over again. It is such a fight! But I know that this will not be an issue if I learn to relate well to food.
Looking forward to becoming “fit for the call” ; )
Yay, Helena. So glad you’re on the journey and I look forward to what God will do in and through you.
Hi! I’m Nikki and I have been struggling with my weight for a while since my 3rd son over 13 years ago. I have since had 2 more little ones and my body image is not getting any better. I’ve recently had this bolt of enlightenment that my body is not mine to do with it as I please EVEN with food. I know this body is a vessel that needs to keep in step with the work set out for me by God. However, my food relationship is bad. I don’t work out when I eat healthy and I work out like a mad woman when I eat unhealthy. I’m only consistent about taking care of this temple it comes in spurts of on and off. So I’m excited about this program. These devotionals are so rich and speaks to my perspective on food and the truth about food. I’m ready and excited!!!! Yay Soul Delights:) First steps to a lifestyle change
Nikki,
I am so glad you joined Your Fast for Life. Your transparency is refreshing and will definitely help you get the healing you desire (James 5:16). Looking forward to being on this journey with you. Thanks for coming along.
Hello. This is Stacey Zitlau. I finally made the choice to set this plan into action. I’m struggling with keeping the weight off. I started my weight loss journey nearly 7 yrs. ago, total weight loss is 240lbs. Two months ago I proudly said 260lbs of total wieght lost. I’m not very happy about gaining 20lbs in two months! I’m excited to learn about what God says about food & how I needed to treat/eat it. Ready to change my life style, eating habits, & the way I see food, through God’s eyes! I really want to keep the weight off, once I lose it!
Thanks for sharing your story here, Stacey. Your weight loss so far is incredible and such an inspiration. I know you will succeed on your journey as you continue to look to the Lord, with whom all things are possible!
Well your quite welcome, Min. Rhonda! I’m excited about this new & exciting journey!
These daily devitionals are opening doors, that I never knew were closed. Or even existed! Just to think about the issues or circumstances that caused food to actually impact my life. Why & how much I choose to consume & why I allowed myself to gain so much weight? I really think back to my younger years, when I was forced to eat everything on my plate-even though I wasn’t the one who made my plate. My mom would cook and make our plates, we were told to make a “Happy Plate” & if we didn’t we would have to sit at the table until we did. I was the one out of all my siblings, that sat at the table the longest or sent to my room for not following the rules! Then we I got older, I choose fast food “Drive Thru” for the convenience. …fast & prepared for me! Less work for me to do…;-) I will say my eating habits were horrible. I also was taught that it’s ok to treat yourself. On those days when I was hurting, sad, or depressed my mom would always take me out to shop, dinner, & dessert just so I would feel better about myself. So to say the least, I did a lot of this in my adult years. Through God, I’m able to see areas that I needed to change. As of 4yrs ago, I have cut fast food & Soda completely out of my life! I’m now working on less shopping & more prayer time with God for a more intimate relationship. I would luv to cut sugar, but it’s really difficult.
Stacey, I praise God that the devotionals are causing you to open doors that you never knew were closed. Many times when we look back we can find the why to our behavior, make adjustments and begin anew. I understand about the sugar being hard. I was forced to cut it out of my diet for three weeks to cure myself from a cycle of recurring yeast infections. When I ate sugar after the three weeks I found certain sugary foods too sweet and that helped me. We can talk more about sugar intake reduction on our conference call.
Ok, that sounds great!
I have to admit….this thing of drinking half my body weight in water, is very difficult. It equals one Gallon a day!!!! There’s no way I can do it during my work week! Too many bathroom breaks, will cause my route to be late! Is there any other alternative?
Stacey, water makes such a big difference in your body. Please drink as much as you can that is as close to half your body weight in ounces. One suggestion for getting your goal ounces of water consumed is wake up earlier and drink more ounces than usual before you leave the house. This way you’ll be able to relieve yourself a few times before leaving the house.
Ok, so I finally got caught up in the devotionals. They are all just amazing, not only are they helping with my food challenges, but my life in general! It just put everything into perspective! These past couple of days I been on an emotional roller coaster! !!! Not only did I have to go back to childhood experiences with food choices, but I had to look back at my journals from when I accepted Christ in my life a lil over 3yrs ago; just to be reminded of all the blessings I have recieved & all the turmoil, depression, & strongholds I have been released of through Christ & Christ alone! !!!
The devotion for today, was right on point! I love the way you explained my water intake & how I should feel like the Holy Spirit entering my body every time I take a drink of water. By looking at it this way, I want to consume as much as I can!
My results of drinking water is challenging, but manageable. I choose to consume 1-2 16oz. Bottles at work, but after work is when I drink the most! Still not enough, but I have a funny feeling things are about to change! I want more of the Holy Spirit!!!!
Hey Stacey,
I don’t remember seeing a notification that you posted this email, but may have missed it because I was out to the country and some of my emails weren’t coming through.
This revelation about the Holy Spirit and water always amazes me. When God unveiled this I shouted and now frequently think of the Holy Spirit every time I am challenged to consume my water. I praise God for the insights He is giving you! He is so wonderful!
Focusing on fasting….I have to admit, I never really have been commited to or took fasting seriously. It’s not something I have been exposed to witnessing, I try hard to follow with the church, but don’t really understand the concept. Even though I was brought up in church when I was young, it’s nothing my family would take part in, so I really have had no experience in the significance of fasting. Reading the book Isaiah 58, really helped me understand it. So my goal is to not focus so much on my own needs, but to help others & humble myself before Christ? I’ve been doing it all wrong. No wonder I haven’t got any real results from fasting! I really want to focus on the way God planned fasting to be represented. So these next couple of weeks are going to be interesting. Thanks, Rhonda for helping me understand how to fast better than I really know.
I feel that my past times of fasting was really a waste of time on God’s & my part. My refraining from food I thought was my fast. I prayed, but it was so shallow. I focused on myself & my needs, not truly understanding the true purpose of a fasting. I’m somewhat embarrassed to be sharing this information with everyone, but I feel I have to be truthful. So I can learn & be taught the right way. I think my past times of fasting have been in many ways just to be looking like I was in agreement with participating in with my church, with no real significance or understanding on my part. This new & true way of thinking & knowing is going to change the way I fast, it’s going to take lots of pratice to get it right. But I now understand what to focus on for the right way to fast. It’s amazing how much I still don’t understand about the correct ways of doing things through God’s ways, I’m just glad your here to point me in the right direction!
What a testimony! Just about every time you post something I am encouraged! I am so glad you are gaining an understanding regarding fasting. God’s word has everything we need for life and godly living. Please let me know if you have any questions.
